A lot of diplomatic analysis went behind the recent decision taken by Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to send a special envoy to Russia. Choe Ryong Hae, a senior Worker’s Party official and a close associate of Kim Jong Un was chosen as the special envoy. The article analyses the recent improvement in the relation between DPRK and Russia. It also seeks to find the reasons behind this move by DPRK and also how Russia is satisfactorily reciprocating owing to its current isolation due to the Crimean affair.
