The tour to three Indian Ocean nations by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided India with an opportunity to obtain rights to develop two strategically located islands and even launch a radar system. This is viewed as the first step towards taking back strategic space ceded to China in recent years. Nevertheless, analysts maintain how far India follows up on its promises remains to be seen.
