Australia SBS Radio Tamil, November 21, 2014
M. Mayilvaganan, Assistant Professor, National Institute of Advanced Studies
Dr M. Mayilvaganan was interviewed by the Special Broadcasting Service of Australian Radio (SBS Radio Australia) Tamil service on the recent release of five Indian fishermen following a pardon by Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The fishermen who had been sentenced to death were released after intervention between the two governments at the highest levels. Dr. Mayilvaganan chose to term the release of the fishermen a victory of the Indian government rather than any one individual or political grouping.
